Version 7.0
  1. WeiDU compiler is updated to version 249.
  2. A brand-new quest, Buried Ambitions, is added for single-class Druid and Shaman protagonists.
  3. The Shaman class is revised and improved, complete with the new mechanics. It is now a viable protagonist choice alongside the Druid class.
  4. The Avenger class is revised and refined further.
  5. The Swashbuckler kit is revised and refined further.
  6. The Champion of Arvoreen kit is revised and refined further.
  7. The Wizard Slayer kit is significantly revised.
  8. The Wild Mage kit is revised to have an updated Wild Surge table, complete with numerous changes and additions. Neera has been reverted to her original Wild Mage class.
  9. Several new High Level Abilities are introduced for Clerics and Druids. A couple of existing clerical and druidic spells are revised as well.

Version 6.5
  1. A few more items added to the item randomizer.
  2. Some tweaks and upgradable items are introduced to allow players use Hexxat as a joinable companion.
  3. Eleven new item upgrades are introduced, including personal item upgrades for Sarevok, Dorn, Minsc, Imoen and Hexxat.
  4. The Judgement Day item and respective encounters are now available for all good-aligned protagonists.
  5. A possibility to import protagonists from BG1 is added.
  6. The optional The Four component is rebalanced and merged into the main mod.
  7. The other optional components have been moved to a separate IA Tweaks mod, which now features three brand-new additions: Simplified economy (the majority of generic loot is automatically converted to gold), Custom kits (select new class/kit options for joinable NPCs) and Bulian's personal set of tweaks for experienced players.

Version 6.4
  1. WeiDU compiler is updated to version 246.
  2. The mod has been updated to be fully compatible with BG2:EE v2.5.
  3. Historically, the vanilla game has never allowed to have +X vs. monster type enchantments functioning properly on weapons. With the new opcode from EE this has now been fixed and all weapons with this effect are functioning as intended.
  4. The Squirreled Away quest has been made available to all protagonists.
  5. The Four, a separate mod made some time ago by Sikret, has been integrated as an optional component.
  6. All class/character restrictions for crafted items are all reworked with the help of 319 opcode (this has allowed to remove a lot of clutter from the global baldur.bcs script).
  7. Players now can level up Neera & Imoen manually and select whatever spells they desire.
  8. Brain Golem and Hardwood Golem now sport brand new distinctive colours.
  9. A script for automatic & precise XP adjustment of joinable NPCs is implemented.
  10. Allow neutrally-aligned protagonists to encounter lady Vanya.

Version 6.3
  1. WeiDU compiler is updated to version 243.
  2. The mod has been updated to be fully compatible with BG2:EE v2.3. However, it no longer supports older versions of BG2:EE and vanilla BG2:ToB.
  3. A new drudic spell, Alicorn Lance, is ported to the game from IWD:EE.
  4. The amount of experience gained by Imoen when she re-joins the party in Spellhold is now tuned to be more in accordance with the party's current amount of XP.
  5. XP per level progression for bards, mages and sorcerers is now tweaked to progress at a slightly faster pace when the character reaches higher levels and begins gaining high level abilities.
  6. An optional component to identify all items has been introduced.
  7. Reduction of racial bonuses to saving throws for small folk has been adjusted. Instead of a simple nerf, bonuses start out small, but increase with character's level. While they are still not as powerful as they used to be, players now should have more incentive to take small folk characters into their parties.
  8. Numerous bugs and small improvements discovered during playtesting of IA v6.2 are introduced.
Version 6.2
  1. WeiDU compiler is updated to version 239.
  2. A translation package for Chinese language is added.
  3. Mod's structure is modernized and improved: this is the first of many steps aimed towards more flexible and modular composition.
  4. A brand-new readme designed from scratch in place of the old collection of text documents.
  5. An optional component that prevents NPCs from leaving due to low reputation is introduced.
  6. More bugfixes and tweaks introduced, both for vanilla game and BG2EE.
  7. Many Bioware NPCs (Jaheira, Minsc, Korgan, Jan, Mazzy, Edwin, Aerie) are tweaked to become more attractive as choices for party members.
  8. Major content changes and additions:
    • the Avenger kit is completely redesigned and assigned to Jaheira;
    • a new fighter kit, Champion of Arvoreen, is added to the game and assigned to Mazzy;
    • a new druidic spell is added, complete with custom-made new animations;
    • a small tactical encounter is added to spice up the early stages of the game;
    • a major new encounter, Improved Demogorgon, is added to provide a satisfying finale to the Watcher's Keep adventure;
    • Necromancer's brand new spell, Recast Vital Energy, is toned down to stimulate a more balanced and diverse spell book configuration;
    • a lot of new graphics added to the game: creature animations and custom colouring, spell animations, portrait icons, new item graphics and so on;
  9. Major item-related changes and additions:
    • expanded randomizer program: four more items are added to random locations;
    • a couple of items moved to the new static locations, as well;
    • a third craftsman is introduced to provide services for the player's party;
    • 10 brand new item upgrades are added to the game;
    • various tweaks are introduced to existing in-game items;
    • a couple of existing items are tweaked to be equippable by the druid characters;
    • magical throwing axes and hammers can now be dual-wielded when in melee mode;
    • efforts are made, both through item upgrades and item placement, to make scimitars, katanas and spears more attractive weapon choices.
Version 6.1
  1. New version of WeiDU compiler is adopted.
  2. Numerous patches introduced to allow for compatibility with BG2EE.
  3. The monk class and its kits are further improved and rebalanced for better performance in IA.
  4. Neera, the BG2EE NPC, is rebalanced and has a different class assigned to her.
  5. Numerous bugs and exploits found in IAv6 are fixed.
  6. New spells and abilities are added to existing classes.
  7. Two new item upgrades, designed specifically for the new BG2EE NPCs, are added to the game.
  8. Readme files are updated to reflect the order of installation for BG2EE.

Version 5
  1. More important fixes and tweaks are applied to the original game.

  4. Refinements are applied to all of the mod's improved encounters.
  5. More item upgrades are added and the recipes of some previous upgrades are slightly changed.
  6. New encounters, quests and tactical content are added to the game.
  7. A new quest is added to the expanded ranger stronghold.
  8. Auramaster druid kit and Riskbreaker kit are added to Improved Anvil. The auramaster kit is also applied to Cernd.

Version 4.2

  3. A bug which would prevent Cromwell from forging one of the mod's new items is fixed.
  4. Two of the game's improved battles in the previous versions had minor glitches which are fixed.
Version 4.1
  1. Some spellcasters would not use their scrolls properly in IA V4. The bug is fixed.
  2. A bug which would cause the Flail of Ages and Frostreaver Axe to disappear from the party's inventory is fixed
Version 4.0
  1. Many more fixes and tweaks apllied to the original game.

  6. Refinements applied to the tactical content of the previous versions of the mod.
  7. Radomization program applied to the location of some of the game's items. In this program, some of the game's original items which were too easily available have been removed from their original locations. Every time you start a new game, the items will be randomly distributed between a number of tough and improved enemies in the game, which means that each time you play the mod the items may be with different opponents and you won't be sure where to look for each of them.
  8. Polygonal scripting system: it's an advanced scripting method devised for and used in Improved Anvil. As a result, creatures can behave much more intelligently.
  9. Some of the items' prices in the shops are increased. Also, cheesy methods to make easy money (stealing items and selling them back) are blocked and will not work anymore.
  10. Some of the key items of the mod are made uncheatable and should only be gained or forged normally during the game.
  11. Some of the original game's overpowered items and spells are nerfed.
  12. A new ranger kit is added to the game.
Version 3.0
  1. Many more fixes and tweaks apllied to the original game.
